The 2011 FIDM Debut Fashion Show was quite the experience! From the exception of having to sit in the very back corner and needing to stage during the entire show it was still a great fashion show. I believe FIDM is probably one of the only hosts of a fashion show where it’s not the juts classic runway walk the entire time. With dancers and performers also walking in the show and the theme changing for each designer but also a back ground insight made the lines seem more sentimental. It is the perfect event for any person that is an inspiring designer or wishes to work in the fashion world to attend.
Would it be a person who just has an interest in fashion or a persoN who makes an effort to show their fashion sense to other people. I believe it would be a persoN with a mix of both. They can be able to appreciate different types of fashion but also know how to be true to themself in styling themselfs and other perople rather than only wearing what the current fashion is just so they can look cool.
This past year after being in Mrs. Woolsey’s Design class for two years in a row I have learned she has quite an exvceptional style and choice of clothing. Though most may call it very classy but I believe it to be more of current fashion with a feminine touch too it. Plus she is able to buy this all at bargin prices from shopping at last chance. Mrs. Woolsey’s style is one I can definetly respect and admire to dress like. ( Mrs. Woolsey if you reading this I swear I’m not trying to suck up and kiss butt hahahhaha)
I mean come one who doesn’t like pink sparkly TOMS!?!
Coco channel wasn’t talking no mumbo jumbo when she was saying that you can wear a little lack dress for every occasion. If you think about it, a little black dresss can be woren for work, school, or even going out on a night on the town.
The lack of motivation for students now to get ready for school or attempt to have their own sense of fashion is depressing. Now I understand that not everyone can afford to be shopping at the stores of the latest trends and fashion fo’s once a week to keep their closet up to date. But it’s the lack of effort I believe that makes some believe it’s an issue. You think in high school when people are shallow enough to constantly care what people think of them, they would try to have a nice appearance when they come to school.
There is too kinds of shoppers in my eyes. Bargin shoppers, who search for those crazy dirt cheap deals and will only buy things that are on sale or reasonable. Or what I like to call holic shoppers, who will buy anything at any price just as long as they like it, want it or need it. Now in reality since when I’ shopping I’m spending my parents money and not my own I can be a holic shopper sometimes because the cocept of money doesn’t work out in my head so well. When I was assigned this outfit I didn’t think it was possible but I can now proudly say I did it! With just a budget of $500 I was able to create 90 outfits and still have $25 to spare.
As my junior year is coming to an end with only a week or two left of school. I was recently called into the counselors office to work on my schedule for next year. Then it hit me after having Mrs. Woolsey for over an entire year with design 1 and design 2 right after I sadly won’t be having as a teacher next year. The only reasoning for this is the CTE class doesn’t go on any more. YOu’d think there would be a design 3 or 4 but there isn’t. How does this make sense when classes like photo or auto have a third class. It’s really only because it has a large following but it that fair for the few small sum of students that want to further their learning in design to not have it offered to them. I think not! Yes an internship is an option but who really want to waste the gas or time when you can have early release instead?
